Saying GOODBYE to 2008

Just piddling around this morning, sipping my coffee and surfin' the internet(s), I heard strange sounds outside. It sounded kind of like heavy rain, only...

It was the sound of thousands of BIRDS! I opened the shades and Wally the cat sat, transfixed, looking out at them as they landed and took off, moving from the trees to the roof to the yard.

It was like a moving blanket of birds in the yard, then suddenly they were aloft again!

I yelled at Robert to look out the window upstairs. He told me they were all over the roof of our house, too. They were thick in the trees and thick on the power lines. There was something almost magical about their movement.

It made me happy.
